Events in Southampton

Southampton community hold several open events throughout the month. Below is a calendar of events coming up soon. Anyone is free to join us at a fireside; an open house discussion on a different topic each month, or a devotional; a time devoted to prayers and reading holy writings.

Southampton community runs study circles weekly. The Ruhi course covers topics such as the nature of the soul, why we pray and the history of the Bahá’í Faith; these are open to everyone.

Devotionals

We gather together once a month to read the sacred writings from the Bahá’í Faith and other world religions in a peaceful atmosphere.

Often we run these as a bring your own; where everyone is encouraged to share their favourite, prayers, readings, poetry and music.

Firesides

Every month you will have the opportunity to hear a short talk on some aspect of the Bahá’í Faith. Then it is time for everyone to share their thoughts and beliefs.

Everyone is welcome. There will be Bahá’ís, people of no faith and people of different faiths. The aim is to learn from each other in an informal environment.

"Consider the flowers in the garden; though differing in kind, colour, form and shape, yet ... this diversity increaseth their charm and addeth unto their beauty..."

Study Circles

We also run more in depth weekly study circles following a structured series of study materials on specific aspects of the Bahá’í Faith and the spiritual life.

We look at the current ills of humanity and look at potential solutions offered in the Bahá’í writings.

Again, everyone is welcome to come and share their thoughts at these informal, open discussions.
